Dublin – once and forever

Öl auf Hartfaserplatte

In 1965 I studied painting under Maurice MacGonigal
at the National College of Art in Dublin.
I felt very flattered and encouraged when he asked
Sean Keating to have a look at my work.

(August Jankowski)

Ring a ring a rosie as the lights declines,
I remember Dublin in the Rare oul Times.

[…]

Fare thee well sweet Anna Liffey,
I can no longer stay,
And watch the new glass cages,
That spring up along the quay,
My mind’s too full of memories,
Too old to hear new chimes.
I’m part of what was Dublin,
In the Rare oul Times.

(From the song The Rare oul Times by Pete St. John)
